In Memory of Faron Andrei

ANDREI, FARON JOSEPH

January 24,1957 - January 20, 2023

We are deeply saddened to announce that Faron passed away peacefully in Vancouver at the age of 65 on January 20, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He is predeceased by his parents Wes and Helen Andrei. Faron is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his children, Jamie (Ryan) and Jackson (Kirsten), siblings Doyle (Debra), Lyndon, Rhonda, two nephews Dustin (Kim) and Devin and many cousins, Aunts and Uncles.

Faron was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and grew up in the Prairies, North Dakota and the Yukon. He settled in Regina for many years, and in 1995 moved to Vancouver, BC. He was a talented musician, who taught himself to play guitar as a teenager. He applied his musical talents to many parts of his life, including song writing, singing, playing guitar, touring, recording and selling guitars for many years as a long-time employee of Tom Lee Music and Long and McQuade in Vancouver.

Throughout his brief illness, he remained grateful for family and friends, and continued to cherish the time he had left with everyone. He maintained a gracious and humble attitude right until his final day, and also his sense of humour. His faith never waivered through this experience, and he accepted it was his time and God was calling him home.

We know that Faron touched the hearts of many, he was a beautiful and kind soul, and will be deeply missed, but never forgotten and always loved.

His children are sincerely grateful for the wonderful and compassionate care he received from the staff of the palliative care unit at St. Paul’s Hospital. Faron took comfort daily by how well he was being cared for, and was so appreciative of the nursing staff.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to St. Paul’s Foundation of Vancouver.
